I want to write about this day, not only because it was the first day of College, but also because we started making things clear regarding on how an actor has to be.

SKILLS - the most important characteristic of an actor. There has to be a lot of them and for that, as future actors, we need to improve ourselves and evolve. We need these skills, because in our career we’ll be in different situations that will test our capacity of adapting, our professionalism; we’ll meet people that we have to work with, like directors or other actors, that might think different from us or people that we don’t get along with, but we are training ourselves for situations like that, to go away when we  need to or to stay and fight to keep things right for ourselves and for others.
In my opinion, the msot three important skills from the list above are: confidence, voice, observation.
Why? Because you need confidence in order to expose you ideas; in order to be yourself, you need to believe in yourself and to know you are good enough to do whatever you want.
Secondly, a powerful and safe voice is the main way you can express yourself. And let’s not forget the impact that the sound has on humans, doesn’t matter if we are speaking of singing or simply talking.
Finally, you need observation to be aware of everything is happening around you, to understand the characters and the people you are working with, to pay attention to the details that represent the difference between a sincere, assumed and unique representation and a bad one, from all points of view.
Every acting class, everytime we are rehearsing, we are keeping these skills in mind and  our objective is to achieve them.

FEARS - let’s not forget we’re humans and fear is a part of each one of us. Skills and fears are very well connected, because while we are combating our fears, we achieve skills. In order to be better you have to arrive from your - level to 0 and after you can continue with +.
My biggest fear is fear of failure, because when I involve myself in something, I, usually, do it with all of me. Seeing that all I had at that point was not enough hits me hard and makes me think twice before trying again. I want to get at that point where I am sure of my ideas because they are good and where I can’t fail with them, but I also want to get rid of this constant fear that doesn’t allow me to be fully me.
This process we have to go through to combat our fears is probably the most stressfull, but in the end, that feeling of fulfillment is pure and unique.

HOPES - on the table were written 2 hopes: friends and openess. I, personally, have more than two, but I prefer to keep them in my mind and accomplish them. After this thing happens, maybe then I could speak about these hopes/wishes of mine.

RULES - because we are working in groups and not just individually, here we have three rules that help us be good teammates. We need to respect the others and their work in order to get respect back. Also, here is not a competition and we shouldn’t be looking for that; we need to create an environment where we can all evolve together.
If you take care of the others, they will be taking care of you too.

FEEDBACK - we get feedback everytime we have the chance, because the way the others see from the outside is different from our way of seeing things. Our objective is to let the ones that are watching feel what we feel, what we say, what we imagine and if this is not happening, we need to know that and correct what’s wrong. Of course, this is a constructive feedback and its purpose is not to bring us down. We will get feedback, either from Rob or from the other students or both of them.

These two (rules and feedback) are some important things every actor should have in mind when working on a team and not only. Being an actor is about a lot of discipline, discipline on the stage and discipline in your self controlling.
